NFL 2023 Week 13

  • Matchup: Atlanta Falcons vs New York Jets
  • Date: Thursday, Dec. 3, 2024 (Week 13)
  • Time: 12:00 ET

New York Jets what to watch:

If New York is to maintain its narrow hopes of making the playoffs, it must take a stance. Although the Jets are holding out hope for a late comeback from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers following his Achilles injury in the season opener, it would be meaningless if the team is already eliminated from the playoffs. Their defense is strong; they are among the top 15 in terms of total yards allowed per game.

With running back Breece Hall rushing for 569 yards and two scores this season, their rushing offense has potential as well. With their running game and defense, the Jets can dictate the pace of the play because he is averaging over five yards per rush. In its last ten games, Atlanta has only covered the spread twice, and in its last seven games versus AFC rivals, it has failed to cover the spread.

Atlanta Falcons what to watch:

Taking advantage of their bye week, Atlanta defeated New Orleans 24–15 in a pivotal divisional matchup last week. Running back Bijan Robinson, who finished with 91 rushing yards, 32 receiving yards, and two touchdowns, was heavily burdened by the Falcons. After starting two games as a backup quarterback before the bye, quarterback Desmond Ridder also made a comeback to the starting lineup.

Due to the Jets' severe quarterback situation, veteran Tim Boyle started last Friday instead of Zach Wilson for the first time this season. In the game against the Dolphins, Boyle was sacked seven times and completed two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
