Chicago Bears what to watch:
Tyson Bagent will start for the fourth time in a row since Justin Fields, who dislocated his thumb against Minnesota in Week 6, is not yet ready to return. In his first home game, the 23-year-old rookie did well, leading the team to three touchdown drives in the victory over the Raiders.
When Chicago lost 24-17 to New Orleans last week, Bagent had his first multi-TD performance of the season, tossing two touchdown passes to tight end Cole Kmet. With 70 yards gained on the ground in that game, he was tied for the team lead in rushing touchdowns this season.
Carolina Panthers what to watch:
The Bears defense, which allows 256.9 yards per pass play and 26.9 points allowed, is ranked 28th in the NFL against the pass. Carolina will have to face them. Adam Thielen's workload may rise for the Panthers due to the absence of receiver DJ Chark, who scored the team's only touchdown last week.
With 610 yards and four touchdown catches, Thielen leads Carolina's receiving corps and is on track for his third career 1,000-yard season—his first since 2018 when he recorded career highs of 113 receptions and 1,373 yards. On Thursday, the Panthers' rookie wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, who currently ranks third with 200 receiving yards, might also see more action.
