Chicago Bears what to watch:

After winning two of its previous three games before taking last Sunday off, Chicago is playing at its highest level this season. The Bears' only defeat in the previous month occurred away to Detroit, but in that 31-26 victory, they covered the 8-point spread. The following week, they rebounded with a 12-10 victory at Minnesota, holding the Vikings to fewer than 250 total yards.

Justin Fields, the quarterback for the Bears, had trouble with interceptions early in the season, but in his final four games, he has thrown just one. Detroit is away from home for the second straight game, which benefits Chicago's rest in a number of ways.

Detroit Lions what to watch:

Since Week 7, Detroit has only suffered a single defeat, which occurred on Thanksgiving during a rivalry game versus Green Bay. Last week, the Lions defeated New Orleans 33-28, thanks in large part to tight end Sam LaPorta's nine receptions for 140 yards and a touchdown. This season, quarterback Jared Goff has averaged over 200 throwing yards each game, demonstrating his continued superior ability.

The Lions have covered the spread in 11 of their previous 13 NFC North games, demonstrating that they play their best football against divisional opponents. In the last six encounters between these two teams, Detroit has prevailed and covered the spread four times, and in its last 20 games overall, it has a 15-5 record against the spread.
