Denver Broncos:
The Broncos' league-worst 16.9 points per game average from the previous season was made even more unsightly by the fact that they had to pay a king's ransom to acquire Russell Wilson in order to improve their offensive. Wilson had a disastrous season for his new squad, recording career-low totals in throwing touchdowns (16), completion percentage (60.5%), and QB rating (84.4).
In free agency, Denver acquired dependable lineman Ben Powers and Mike McGlinchey. Meanwhile, center Lloyd Cushenberry and left tackle Garrett Bolles, who missed a combined 21 games in 2017, will be fit. Wilson should improve in his second season in Denver with better blockers in front of him, especially with Payton taking the lead.
Las Vegas Raiders:
After trading for Jimmy Garoppolo and dumping Derek Carr after a disappointing season, the Raiders offense ought to improve as well. Before sustaining a season-ending injury in 2022, Garoppolo was having a great season for San Francisco (103.0 pass efficiency rating through 11 games).
Though there may be questions about Garoppolo's durability, he will be prepared to play in Week 1. Having two explosive weapons in three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams and running back Josh Jacobs, who led the NFL with 1,653 rushing yards the previous season, also helps.
