Minnesota Vikings what to watch:
Minnesota has had additional time to recover from last Thursday's close game against Philadelphia. Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson accounted for 159 of the 364 yards and four touchdowns that quarterback Kirk Cousins passed for. Entering Week 3, Jefferson led the league in receiving yards after logging over 150 yards in each of his first two games.
The absence of Chargers running back Austin Ekeler from Sunday's game is encouraging for the Vikings. Since the start of the previous season, Los Angeles has lost five of its past seven away games straight up and has failed to cover the spread in seven of those eight games. In the last five encounters between these two teams, the Vikings have prevailed four times and covered the spread in each of those five games.
Los Angeles Chargers what to watch:
Justin Herbert, a quarterback with the Chargers, is among the greatest in the NFL. The former great player from Oregon has the ability to keep Los Angeles in games on his own and has started 2023 without committing any turnovers. Herbert has completed 50 of 74 ball attempts for 534 yards and three touchdowns through two games.
Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, two seasoned wide receivers, are still Herbert's preferred targets. After catching eight catches for 111 yards and two scores in Week 2 against the Titans, Allen is riding high. Allen has caught 14 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns this season on 19 targets. On 18 targets, Williams has added 12 receptions for 128 yards.
