Houston Texans what to watch:
With quarterback C.J. Stroud as the current favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year, Houston has come as a welcome surprise. The Texans have scored 30 points or more in each of their two wins this season, which is a remarkable accomplishment given that they only accomplished it once in 2022. Stroud has passed for seven touchdowns on 1,461 yards with no interceptions in his first five NFL outings. Despite 186 attempts, he has started his NFL career with zero interceptions—an NFL record.
Despite their lackluster performances in Week 5, Houston's receiving core—led by veterans Nico Collins and Robert Woods and rookie Tank Dell—has also surprised many. Tight end Dalton Schultz was the team's top receiver versus Atlanta, hauling in seven passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
New Orleans Saints what to watch:
Saints quarterback Derek Carr recovered from a tough outing against Tampa Bay in Week 4 with a 183-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Patriots on Sunday. Carr had been dealing with a shoulder ailment. In his second game back from suspension, running back Alvin Kamara gained 80 yards on 23 carries and another 17 yards on three passes he caught.
The defense of New Orleans must also contain Houston's offense, much like they did with New England's the previous Sunday. Mac Jones and crew were only able to muster 156 yards overall and 20 minutes and 26 seconds of possession time by the Saints. Tyrann Mathieu, a safety, returned a 27-yard interception to start the scoring after they forced three turnovers.
