Las Vegas Raiders what to watch:

This season, the Raiders have excelled at pass protection. The Raiders are the only club in the NFL to allow fewer pressures (15.8%) and fewer sacks (eight) than any other team, with Las Vegas being the only team not to allow a sack in 2023. The Raiders are also proficient on third down, converting 44.4% of opportunities, and Jimmy Garoppolo has shown himself to be a reliable quarterback over a significant amount of time. Since 2019, Garoppolo has gone 33-16 as a starter and during that time, he has ranked among the top five in the NFL in yards per attempt. He's completed 72% of his throws in 2023, averaging 7.7 yards per attempt.

With Josh Jacobs, the Raiders have a potent running game as well. With 1,653 running yards, he led the NFL in 2022 and was selected to the first team of the All-Pro team. Along with leading the league in scrimmage yards (2,053) and rushing touchdowns (12), Jacobs also averaged 4.9 yards per carry.

Pittsburgh Steelers what to watch:

Despite early-season growing problems for Pittsburgh's offense, this matchup versus Las Vegas is advantageous. George Pickens, a wide receiver, is a rising star who exploded for 801 yards in his rookie season and another 127 yards in Week 2. The Raiders defense, which ranks bottom in the league in terms of scoring percentage allowed (60.0% of possessions) and points allowed per drive (3.67), will also be up against Pickens, Kenny Pickett, and the rest of Pittsburgh's offensive line. This season, Las Vegas has not forced a turnover, and the Raiders rank last in the NFL in terms of passing defense stats. With five touchdown passes and a 116.6 passer rating through two weeks, opponents are completing 81.7% of their throws against the Raiders.

Conversely, the Steelers maintain pressure on the opponent as they rank among the top five teams in the NFL in terms of sacks, quarterback hits, and turnovers caused. TJ Watt, who leads the NFL in sacks and quarterback hits this season, is the leader of that raucous defense. Since entering the league in 2017, Watt has led the NFL in sacks, quarterback hits, and forced fumbles.
