Los Angeles Rams what to watch:

Los Angeles' passing attack was incredibly effective in Week 1 even without their standout wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who was placed on Inactive Reserve prior to the season. Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua, two wide receivers, each hauled in 119 yards from Matthew Stafford, who was 24 of 38 for 334 yards. While Cam Akers, the Rams' starting running back, ran 22 times for 29 yards and a touchdown, Kyren Williams ran for 52 yards and two scores. LA appeared to be a completely different team in 2023 as they outplayed Seattle with 426 yards of total offense and no sacks allowed.

The Rams' defensive line limited the powerful Seahawks' offensive line to just 12 yards overall and one first down in the second half. Even though the Seahawks did not turn the ball over, they only managed 170 yards, and during that 20:37, Los Angeles controlled the majority of the possession time. The Rams could succeed even against San Francisco's elite defense if they can strengthen their rush attack.

San Francisco 49ers what to watch:

Christian McCaffrey was moved to San Francisco in the midst of the season, and against them last year, he ran for 94 yards and a touchdown. During the first week, McCaffrey gained 152 yards from 22 carries, which included a 65-yard touchdown run that effectively put an end to any Pittsburgh comeback attempt. He demonstrated why the 49ers sacrificed so much draft money for him the previous season, as he was the greatest player on the field.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who caught eight receptions from quarterback Brock Purdy for 129 yards and two touchdowns, was the other star for the 49ers. Purdy was impressive, throwing for 220 yards on 19 of 29 passing attempts, even after recovering from elbow surgery that was required due to an injury sustained in the NFC Championship Game in January. In midseason form as well, San Francisco's defense forced five sacks of Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett and limited Pittsburgh's offense to 239 total yards.
