New Orleans Saints what to watch:

The Saints are the overwhelming favorites to win the NFC South and are currently tied for first position with the Atlanta Falcons. With a 4-4 record at the halfway point of the season, New Orleans is realistically contending for the division crown, which says more about the quality of the opposition than it does about the Saints. They did triumph last week, defeating the Colts 38-27 in Indianapolis after falling behind by 10 points at the beginning of the game.

Derek Carr angrily watched from the sidelines as the Saints labored against the Jaguars in prime time the week before. However, the quarterback for New Orleans recovered and performed admirably against the Colts; the offense scored a game's highest amount of points this season, Carr quit whimpering, and the Saints closed the gap on the Falcons for the division lead.

Chicago Bears what to watch:

The Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints will square off inside in an NFC game during Week 9 of the 2023 NFL schedule at the Caesars Superdome. Any positive emotions that arose from Chicago's victory against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7 have since dissipated as the Bears, led by rookie backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, were defeated 30-13 by the Chargers in Los Angeles.

In prime time, the undrafted rookie's second start in lieu of the injured Justin Fields did not go well. The Chicago offense turned the ball over on downs three times, and Bagent threw two interceptions.

The Bears' defense let Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert throw three touchdown passes as Los Angeles jumped out to a 17-zip lead and eventually led by 23 points, handing the NFC North's bottom-dwelling team its sixth loss in eight games.
