Detroit Lions what to watch:
Last week, Detroit gave up 501 yards to the Ravens, 357 of which came through the air. The Raiders, who start Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback, are 3-2 after losses to Buffalo and Pittsburgh. With 68% of his passes completed, Garoppolo has gained 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns. Despite the quarterback problems, Jakobi Myers has 385 receiving yards, while receiver Davante Adams has 528.
Josh Jacobs, the running back, is a key component for Las Vegas, which has won six of its last seven Monday Night Football games against the spread. Despite only gaining 2.9 yards per run on average, the NFL's top rusher in 2022 has 26 receptions for 562 yards overall.
Las Vegas Raiders what to watch:
Over the last 17 games, Detroit has outperformed the rest of the league in terms of spread defense, going 14-3. With an average of 377 yards per game, their offense ranks fourth in the NFL, while its passing game is ranked fifth. With 4.5 sacks, an interception, and two fumble recoveries, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson—who leads the Lions' defense in run prevention—will attempt to pursue Jimmy Garoppolo.
With 15, the Raiders are the NFL's most turnover-prone team. Of those turnovers, 12 are interceptions, with eight coming from Garoppolo in five starts. With 1,902 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes, Goff is eighth in the NFL in passing yards. The quarterback's primary target, Amon-Ra St. Brown, has four games with 100 yards or more. With David Montgomery sidelined, Jahmyr Gibbs—a rookie averaging 4.9 yards per carry—will have to shoulder the bulk of the workload in the backfield.
