Philadelphia Eagles what to watch:
The last seven Philadelphia triumphs over Minnesota at home have been convincing, with margins of 11 points or more. After throwing for just 170 yards against the Patriots in Week 1, Jalen Hurts, who threw for 333 yards in the victory last year, will be ready to target the Vikings' defense. Dallas Goedert, a tight end who did not have a reception in the season opener but caught five passes for a team-high 82 yards against Minnesota in 2022, is another player the 25-year-old quarterback will be trying to connect with.
Hurts also has the explosive combination of DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown at his disposal. Last year, Brown and Smith became the first receiver duo to surpass the 1,000-yard mark in the same season, with Brown scoring 1,496 yards and Smith scoring 1,196. Hurts' lone touchdown pass of the game was caught by Smith, 24, and 26-year-old Brown led the Eagles with 79 receiving yards against New England.
Minnesota Vikings what to watch:
The last three games Kirk Cousins has played on Thursdays, he has won them all 33–26, including last Thanksgiving's victory over New England. In that game, the 35-year-old put up a solid performance, finishing 30 of 37 pass attempts for 299 yards and three touchdowns. After gaining 344 yards and completing 75% of his throws against the Buccaneers in Week 1, Cousins became one of just five quarterbacks in the NFL to surpass the 300-yard plateau.
In the season opener, Cousins completed 33 passes for touchdowns, two of which went to Justin Jefferson. The 24-year-old wide receiver completed with 150 receiving yards on nine catches last Sunday. He was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 after recording a league-high 1,809 receiving yards. Jefferson still needs to run 150 yards one more time.
