New York Jets what to watch:
After losing to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, the Jets are now 1-1. The Cowboys absolutely outclassed them in a 30-10 thrashing, wiping out whatever momentum New York might have had following their Week 1 comeback victory over the Buffalo Bills in overtime. After suffering a torn Achilles against the Bills, Aaron Rodgers might have a lengthy season without him.
Now that Rodgers is sidelined for some time, Zach Wilson will once more be the team's offensive leader for New York. In each of his three seasons, Wilson's completion percentage has decreased; it is at 54.2%. In addition, he leads the NFL in interceptions (4), which is double the amount of touchdown passes he has completed. Wilson has thrown more picks than touchdowns in each of his three seasons, so that's a trend.
Against New England, the 24-year-old BYU product has been especially awful, finishing 0-4 with a 50.9% completion percentage and a 2:7 TD/INT ratio.
New England Patriots what to watch:
After losing their first two games of the season at home, the Patriots went on the road for the first time this year. Both games were close contests decided by a single possession, but New England was unable to win either time, marking the team's first 0-2 start since 2001.
The Patriots are still marginal favorites even though they are traveling and have the worst record going into the game. That's probably because the Jets have been owned by New England lately. The Patriots have won 14 straight games against their division rivals and haven't lost to them since December 2015.
Bill Belichick, the head coach of New England, was an assistant coach for New York from 1997 to 1999, therefore he always looks especially eager to defeat his former team. It certainly helps that the Jets, who have historically had terrible quarterbacks, will also have one in this game.
