Tampa Bay Buccaneers what to watch:
Mike Evans has not been discouraged in the slightest by Tampa Bay's switch from the storied Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield at quarterback thus far this season. With 237 receiving yards after two games of a campaign, the 30-year-old wide receiver is fourth in the NFL and on his way to his 10th consecutive 1,000-yard season. The highest receiving yards in franchise history through two games of a campaign was 275 in 2018 by DeSean Jackson. In the 27-17 victory over Chicago last week, Evans amassed 171 yards and a touchdown in six receptions, making it his eighth career 170-yard performance—more than all other Tampa Bay players combined.
The Buccaneers have been effective on the other side of the ball as well; they are ranked second against the run (54 yards) and ninth in the NFL in total defense (302.5 yards allowed per game). With eight sacks, six of which came against the Bears, they are tied for fifth place. In the triumph, safety Christian Izien also intercepted a ball, and linebacker Shaquil Barrett returned one four yards for a touchdown.
Philadelphia Eagles what to watch:
With 178 yards per game on the ground, the Philadelphia Eagles are second in the NFL. D'Andre Swift is third in the league in terms of rushing after he scored a career-high 175 yards in the team's 34-28 victory over Minnesota last week. In the victory, the 24-year-old, who saw only one carry for three yards in his Philadelphia debut, scored a touchdown on the ground in addition to Jalen Hurts' two rushing touchdowns.
It was the fourth game in the previous two seasons—including playoffs—in which the Eagles gained at least 250 running yards and three touchdown runs, two more than the other 31 NFL teams put together in that time. Despite Philadelphia's 29th-ranked passing offense (162.5 yards per game), wide receiver DeVonta Smith produced a successful performance against the Vikings. With 131 yards and a touchdown on four receptions, the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner recorded his fifth 100-yard effort in eight regular-season games.
