Cleveland Browns what to watch:
In order to make up for a disappointing loss on Monday night and the devastating injury to star running back Nick Chubb, the Cleveland Browns will need to recover quickly in Week 3 before facing the Tennessee Titans.
The Browns were in a bind to cover the massive void left by Chubb's season-ending knee injury suffered against the Steelers in Week 2 (please refrain from researching it). Earlier in the week, they signed former running back Kareem Hunt swiftly, giving them an immediate option on the field.
However, while against Tennessee, the Cleveland defense has the ability to win. After two weeks under new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, the Browns are among the elite defensive teams in several analytical stats.
Tennessee Titans what to watch:
With an overtime victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday, the Titans avoided a 0-2 start, but their offense was hindered by poor penalties from the Bolts. Tennessee's aggressive rushing attack will put Cleveland's defense to the test since it has only scored 39 points in regulation this season.
In order to keep opposing quarterbacks guessing, defensive coordinator Shane Bowen employs intricate secondary tactics. That was sufficient to cause a good quarterback like Herbert to hesitate, which resulted in three sacks for Tennessee. Bowen employs a sleight of hand to play one zone coverage while displaying man coverage.
In addition to dealing with a stronger Titans secondary that is expected to welcome back safety Amani Hooker, Cleveland will also have to contend with a methodical Tennessee club that will minimize its offensive possessions. The Titans operate the slowest play calling tempo and concentrate heavily on running back Derrick Henry, which leads to an unfair advantage in time of possession, especially because Chubb can no longer accomplish the same for the Browns.
